Manitoba School Esports Association
Project Type
Branding & Social Media Campaign
Role
Media Director
As the Media Director for the MSEA, I was tasked with professionalizing the face of scholastic esports in the province. The challenge was to create a visual identity that appealed to students while commanding the respect of school boards and parents. I recreated their logo and branding to feature cleaner, aesthetically pleasing colors that aligned more closely with the formal education and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) sectors. I ensured the new logo included a second set of acronyms to represent the French language, so that the brand resonated with Manitoba’s significant Francophone demographic and expanded the organization's reach.
I also overhauled the digital communication strategy. We moved away from sporadic updates and focused on consistent, value-driven engagement. I launched social media campaigns specifically designed to educate the "gatekeepers" (parents and teachers) on the cognitive and social benefits of esports in an educational setting. This shift helped change the narrative around gaming in schools, providing the awareness needed to encourage more families and educators to participate in the program.
